Veronica Yang
Veronica Yang (USA, 2000) is an artist currently based in Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam Nations. She holds a BFA in Visual Arts and a minor in Curatorial Practices from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (2024). She practices in paintings and soft sculptures, creating work that transcends the flat canvas, evolving into dimensional and sculptural forms. Before her fine arts training, Veronica worked in the patternmaking and sewing industry, participating in multiple books and publications. Her foundation in soft material practices and drafting expanded to her fine arts career in painting, drawing, and sculpture. During her studies at the university, she has received multiple scholarships, including the Takao Tanabe Scholarship, Walter Jaager Excellence in Painting Scholarship, and Hitoshi Nishi Painting Scholarship.
